TowScout

About TowScout

Find travel trailers that match your tow vehicle.

Shopping for a travel trailer is exciting, right up until you try to work out whether your truck or SUV can actually pull it. The numbers that matter are scattered across towing guides, brochures, and door-jamb stickers, and dealer “tow ratings” rarely tell the whole story. The limit that bites most buyers is payload, not the headline tow figure.

TowScout brings those numbers together in one place, checks them against the limits that matter, and shows its work. We built it to be the tool we wished we had: trustworthy, transparent, and refreshingly honest about what it can and cannot tell you.

Verified, sourced data

Every spec links to a source and carries a confidence score. No record is shown publicly without provenance.

Honest about limits

We estimate compatibility and say so plainly. We never claim a combination is safe, road-legal, or manufacturer-endorsed.

Transparent math

The full methodology and every formula are public. You can reproduce any result by hand.

Our data standard

We do not publish sample vehicles, sample trailers, or placeholder towing values. A record only becomes visible once it has a source title, a source URL, a source type, and a confidence score, and an editor has marked it verified. If a specification cannot be sourced, we leave it blank rather than guess, and the affected compatibility check is skipped instead of assumed to pass. Read the full methodology.
